Privacy Policy

Snap Up Automation (“the Service”) is software operated by Pragmateia LLC on behalf of SNAPUP PARTNERS to automate buyer-checkout and pickup-coordination workflows for Snap Up, an Instagram-based consignment furniture marketplace at @shop_snapup. This policy explains what the Service collects, how it uses that information, how SMS messaging consent is collected, and how to request deletion.
1. What we receive from Meta
When a buyer comments on an @shop_snapup Instagram post, Meta sends our Service a webhook event containing:
- The comment text
- The commenter’s Instagram-scoped user ID and public username
- The Instagram media ID of the post the comment was made on
- The timestamp of the comment
When the Service sends a private-reply Direct Message in response, the Instagram-scoped user ID is used as the recipient. No other data is collected from the buyer’s profile.
2. How we use it
- The comment text is checked for the keyword “snap” to identify a purchase intent.
- The media ID is used to fetch the original post’s caption from Instagram’s Graph API to extract the item name and price.
- A Stripe Checkout payment link is generated for that item and sent to the commenter as a private-reply Direct Message.
The Service does not display, sell, share, or rent personal data to any third party. The Service does not use this data for advertising or analytics.
3. SMS messaging (Snap Up pickup coordination)
After a buyer completes Stripe checkout for an item listed by Snap Up, the Service may send the buyer, the seller, and a Snap Up coordinator a multi-party SMS thread from a Snap Up toll-free number (operated via Twilio) for the sole purpose of coordinating the in-person pickup of the purchased item.
- Brand: All SMS messages are sent on behalf of Snap Up. The first message of every thread identifies Snap Up by name.
- Message type: Strictly transactional. Pickup logistics only. No marketing or promotional content.
- Frequency: Typically 1–10 messages per pickup, varying by how quickly the buyer and seller settle on a time and location.
- Consent capture: Buyers consent to receive these messages via an explicit SMS-consent checkbox presented during Stripe Checkout. Sellers consent to receive these messages via an explicit SMS-consent checkbox on the Snap Up Seller Intake form (Jotform) when they submit their item.
- Consent is not a condition of purchase or sale. Buyers and sellers who do not consent to SMS can still transact with Snap Up; pickup will be coordinated by phone call or email instead.
- Opt out: Reply
STOP at any time to immediately end all Snap Up SMS messages to your number. Reply HELP at any time for support. Msg & data rates may apply.
- Carriers: Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- No SMS data sharing: Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support of services is permitted (e.g., Twilio as the SMS carrier).
Phone numbers collected for SMS pickup coordination are retained only as long as needed to complete the transaction and are deleted on request (see Section 6).
4. Data retention
- Comment events are processed in real time and the raw event payload is discarded within 30 days from the Service’s execution log.
- The buyer’s Instagram-scoped user ID is associated with the resulting Stripe payment record (so the Snap Up team can reconcile a payment to the original buyer) and retained for as long as Snap Up retains its sales records.
- No buyer data is stored on the Service’s servers beyond what is necessary to reconcile a single transaction.
5. Third parties
The Service uses these processors on a “data passes through” basis:
- Stripe — to generate per-buyer payment links and capture SMS consent at checkout. Subject to Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
- Twilio — to deliver pickup-coordination SMS from Snap Up’s toll-free number. Subject to Twilio’s Privacy Policy. Phone numbers shared with Twilio are used solely to deliver Snap Up pickup messages.
- Jotform — to collect Snap Up Seller Intake submissions, including SMS consent. Subject to Jotform’s Privacy Policy.
- Google Sheets — to write reconciliation records into Snap Up’s master spreadsheet.
We do not transfer Instagram event data or mobile phone numbers to any other party for marketing or promotional purposes.
6. Your rights
Anyone whose data appears in the Service can request:
- A copy of any data we hold about them
- Deletion of any data we hold about them
- Correction of inaccurate data
Send requests to diego.perez@pragmateia.com (response within 30 days).
7. Data deletion
To request deletion of all data the Service holds about you, follow the instructions on our Data Deletion page. We will confirm deletion within 30 days.
